A time for change

Poor Treacle had his op yesterday, and to add insult to injury I had them give him an injection against myxomatosis. But he seems none the worse for his experience. Now he is back on holiday at a friends house while he recuparates.

It looks like 2 of the babies have a new home when they are ready to leave. I saw the first baby eating with Mum yesterday, so I guess it won't be long:)

All of the uncertaintly over the shop has been resolved. I have my months notice on the premises typed up and will drop it in today. After over 50 years the Wool Shop Withernsea will cease to exsit - well on its present premises.

A friend has offered me space in his shop to sell from. I will not have as much room as now, but I will probably stop doing the craft and stick to yarn and habadashery. My bills will go right down, and there is a lovely view of the sea from there:)

There are advantages and disadvantages to this arrangement. But like all compromises I can only try it and see if it works. If not, I have the option of walking away at any time. Hopefully my customers will still come and buy, and maybe I will pick up a few more.

Sad as it is to lose the original premises, it has been struggling for a long time. So maybe a new start will inject a bit of life into it. Jim runs a fancy dress hire shop and photography studio from there. It may not be a conventionly mix, though it could benefit us both. New Mums coming in to buy wool and patterns could well decide to have a professional photo taken of baby at the same time. Also either of us can pop out and the other can cover for them. It can make for long boring days when few people come in. With us both there, we will at least have someone to talk to.

Now that you've made the decision, I wish you well in your new location. A sea view...how lovely.

Thank you, if it doesn't work out I can just walk away. But at least I will have tried.
