Broken arm

I cannot believe it. Less than 2 weeks till the shop move and I have my arm in plaster.

Was down at new shop on Sunday helping out. Went to get an ice cream and tripped over broken paving stone. I knew I had done something major to my arm as it was at a funny angle and the pain was so intense. But it was not until the xrays that I realised it was broken in 2 places and the elbow dislocated.

Until now I did not realise quite how many things you need both hands for, including typing. This is taking me forever to do:( Friends are keeping my shop going, my hairdresser is kindly washing my hair for me, and a friend is cooking me meals.

But I can't knit or do any of my craft work. The painkillers are making so tired I can't even read a book.

Just taking the lid off a bottle of juice is a major feat. Not to mention how heavy a full arm plaster cast is. The sling round my neck is cutting in like mad. Surely there is something more comfortable than this?

I'm so sorry to hear about your accident, I can't imagine how painful it must have been.
Ihope it doesn't take too long to heal.
Take care.

Hope you feel better soon and heal quickly.
I can empathise with you my MIL shattered her elbow at the end of November. She was in a terrific amount of pain and needed a major op to pin and plate it all back again. She finally got her car back a month or so ago but has to wear elbow supports to drive. She is still in pain but thats mainly down to one of the pins coming loose and sticking out of the bone!!!!
Accept any help offered and sleep is the best healer. Try not to let it get you too down. Hopefully the pain will get easier and you will be more moblie asap. xxx

Sorry to hear about your accident. Its very exasperating when you can't do things for yourself, like your bra strap! I had a similar situation some months back and found myself in some hilarious situations!

Thanks everyone. It is very difficult to type at the moment and my arm is still painful. Probably because I haven't been able to rest it much. Moved the shop last week and its been a nightmare. But cast off Wednesday, so hopefully be easier then.
