Feeling a little deflated at the last machine knit effort, I took another look at it. After sewing up the hat I discovered that the row of holes made an excellent fold line. Not a wasted effort after all.
I have been working on the hand knit while watching I'm a Celebrity and am encouraged by how well it is going - famous last words. As this yarn contains 50% wool I know that when it is sewn up and washed it is going to look very different.
I now have both fronts done and am half way up the back. If this works I will have a lovely cardi and managed to reduce my stash by a few balls. If it doesn't work I will have lost nothing as I did not pay for the wool, and I could always stuff a cushion with it.
