An enchanting evening in Sheffield

Some time ago I received an email from a student in Sheffield requesting my help. She was doing some work on coastal erosion in Withernsea, and wanted to talk to people about their feelings on it. I thought about this and sent off an email to a friend who used to be Mayor of Withernsea asking his advice. He promptly emailed me back with a couple of name of people who would be useful on this project. Several emails later a date was set for her visit. In the meantime I had set up several other interviews for her.

Pooja arrived on Friday and we hit it off straight away. It was like having another daughter around, and we spent a lot of time laughing and talking about everything under the sun. We went round getting interviews and taking photos for her work, but we also had a lot of fun as well.

She had to go back to Sheffield yesterday, Tuesday, and I wanted to take her to the train station and see her off. But a dear friend had other ideas. He arranged to drive us both to Sheffield and drop her off. Which we did, stopping first for a meal together. We then met her sister and niece before driving home again. Not arriving till after midnight. It was a beautiful way to end a wonderful visit and we will certainly be seeing each other again soon. Thank you Pooja for being the person you are, and thank you Vic for giving us this extra time together.
